About Anjaneyar

Outside the temple, facing the main temple, Anjaneyar is standing with folded hands.

It is a rare coincidence to find that while in Kancheepuram Lord Vishnu is in a standing posture as Varadaraja, in Thirupparkadal, near Kaveripakkam, He is in a reclining posture and in Thisaimuganseri, He is in a sitting posture.

A group of dedicated team of friends and well-wishers formed a sabha in the name of Sri Kothandaramaswamy Temple Baktha Jana Sabha and collected funds to renovate this temple. The temple renovation was completed in the year 2010 and the Samprokshanam was performed on 23/05/2010 by Sriman U.Ve. Srinivasaramanujachariar, the Madathipathi of Thirukkovalur and Emberumanar Jeer of Sri Thrivikramaswamy Temple Devasthanam of Thirukkovalur. Since then, the daily poojas and special utsavams like Vaiunta Ekadasi, Hanumath Jayanthi, Panguni Utharam, Sri Rama Navami, Sita Kalyanam, special Thiruvilakku Pooja for Thayar and Puratasi month festivals on all the Saturdays of that month are performed by the Sabha.

On the occasion of the commencement of the 3rd Anniversary of the temple a donor has donated a sizeable sum to construct a sannidhi for Chakrathalwar and the same was consecreated on the 23rd May, 2012, with the blessings of the Emberumanar Jeer of Thirukkovalur.
